Court publishes second edition of International Law booklet for 15th Anniversary

The UK Supreme Court today (Thursday 17th October) has published the second edition of their Public International Law booklet.
The publication takes readers through highlights from the Court's international cases over the last 15 years. HM Treasury v Ahmed [2010], The United States of America v Nolan [2015], and General Dynamis United Kingdom Ltd v Libya [2021] are just some of the cases featured in the booklet.
In the foreword, author of the publication, Lord Lloyd-Jones, Justice of the UK Supreme Court, explained; "The purpose of this 2nd edition is to illustrate the contribution that public international law has made to the work of the Supreme Court.
"My colleagues and I hope that you will find the new selection of cases informative. We trust that you will enjoy perusing them and that you will find them as fascinating, both factually and legally, as we have."
An online version of the Public International Law booklet 2024 can be read on the UK Supreme Court's website.
The updated edition has been published in time for this year's London Conference on International Law, being held in Westminster this week.
The UK Supreme Court was officially opened by Queen Elizabeth II on 16th October 2009. The first edition of the Public International Law was published to mark the Court's tenth birthday in 2019.
Throughout the year the Court has been marking its 15th anniversary with activities including; an art competition for school children, an essay competition, and a new exhibition at the Court. In addition, Justices, including Lord Lloyd-Jones, are hosting lectures and presentations across the UK.
