Working for us

Working for the UK Supreme Court and Judicial Court of the Privy Council (JCPC) is an extremely rewarding experience. You will join a small supportive team, playing a significant part in the upholding of law in the UK and around the world.

We are a non-ministerial government department and therefore the majority of our roles are civil servants. Although we are a small team, we have a wide range of professions from education and IT to those legally trained.

We value staff that can be adaptable to differing priorities and show a positive and willing attitude to support the Court and the Justices.

For an insight into the work of the Court and our staff, please watch the video.

Current roles

When we have vacant positions to be filled by external recruitment we advertise them on this page, in the national press and on the Civil Service Website.

The Court recruits up to eleven Judicial Assistants each year to start in September. Applications for the 2025/26 Legal Year are now closed. The next recruitment for Judicial Assistants is expected to launch in January 2025. For more information please see our JA recruitment page.

Head of Buildings and Facilities Management

The Head of Buildings and Facilities Management role plays a significant part in the delivery of services to the UKSC’s internal and external customers and focuses on ensuring good governance, financial propriety and strategic leadership in respect of the UKSC’s key physical assets, with operational oversight at Management Board level. The post holder holds responsibility for the unique Grade II* listed Supreme Court Building on Parliament Square, London. The building is an architectural gem and exists as both a working Court which deals with hearings across the world but also as a destination for tourism, catching passers-by visiting the adjacent UNESCO World Heritage Site incorporating the Houses of Parliament and Westminster Abbey.

Find out more and apply.

The closing date for applications is Sunday 20th July at 11.55pm
