Supreme Court estimates memorandum publication 2024-25
22 July 2024
The UK Supreme Court has today (22 July 2024) published the estimates memorandum for the UK Supreme Court's Main Estimate 2024-25. This follows HM Treasury presenting the Central Government Main Estimates 2024-25 last week.
UK Supreme Court Main Estimate Memorandum 2024-25
The Main Estimate is used to seek resources and cash from Parliament to support the Court administration for the current financial year. The estimates memorandum is sent to the Justice Committee of the House of Commons to set out the role of the Court, outline the resources and cash we are seeking from Parliament and identify any significant changes from the previous year.
Normally, the UK Supreme Court's estimates memorandum is published by the Justice Committee after they have received it. However, following the general election, there is currently no Justice Committee for the estimates memorandum to be presented to. Therefore, the Court has published the memorandum so that it is available in the public domain at the same time that the Main Estimates 2024-25 are being considered by Parliament.
