Lord Wilson of Culworth will retire as a Supreme Court Justice following his 75th birthday on Saturday 9 May 2020.

Lord Wilson was appointed to the Supreme Court in May 2011, and since that time he has given countless important judgments and made an enormous contribution to the Court's work.

Due to the current COVID-19 restrictions, it has not been possible to hold a valedictory ceremony for Lord Wilson, as we would normally do for a retiring judge. Instead, the President of the Supreme Court, Lord Reed, has made a short video to pay tribute to his work and to say a fond farewell to him on behalf of all at the Supreme Court.
