Self-represented Parties
The UK Supreme Court is an appeal court. It hears appeals on arguable points of law of the greatest public importance, for the whole of the United Kingdom in civil cases, and for England, Wales and Northern Ireland in criminal cases. It also hears cases on devolution matters under the Scotland Act 1998, the Northern Ireland Act 1998 and the Government of Wales Act 2006.
It may be that your case cannot be heard by the UK Supreme Court as it does not have jurisdiction – i.e. the Court may not have the authority to hear your case.
Please read our Self-represented parties guidance for more information about whether you can take your case to the UK Supreme Court.
To make an application, self-represented parties must register or log in to the Portal and make an Eligibility check.
